Thank you . . .
Thank you for taking your time to read my campaign web pages. I know that I could not have come so far without the help of others. I remember the words of Margaret Meade:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has."
So, I thank:
- Archie Jackson, for serving as treasurer of my campaign, and partner in this cause of justice.
- Jeri Starcher for serving as assistant treasurer and making tomato sauce.
- Tuscarawas and Hall of Fame Central Labor Councils, AFL-CIO, for their endorsements.
- Joe Clifford Faust, C. Todd Locke and Karen Renner at Wern Rausch Locke Advertising, Inc., for their design talent.
- My parents, Carol Renner and Dr. Daniel Renner, for the support and values they gave me.
- My wife of 25 years, Laura, and our pride and joy, Jennie, for their love, affection, devotion and understanding. Each has been a thoughtful advise and companion in this campaign.
- George Houston, Joseph Jean-Charles, Tyler Knight, Grant Willis, Belle Everett, Allison Petonic, Jennie Renner-Yeomans, Clint Voelm and Corarena Streeter for door knocking with me in New Philadelphia, Dennison, Newcomerstown, Dover, Strasburg, Tusky and Uhrichsville.
- Susan Knight and Emma Kail for lending their voices to my radio ads.
- Anna Mae Nixon, Georgia Caul, Tim Mullins, Kandy Close, Karen Renner, Debbie Courtright, Todd Beegle, Anita Smith, Ruth Snodgrass, Vicki Pompi, Patti Cotterman, Laura Yeomans, Jennie Renner-Yeomans, Felicia Floyd, Deb Martinelli, Tony Tramontano and Margie Richmond for volunteering on the phone bank.
- Ron Hanna, Archie Jackson, Chops Weston, Doris Jenkins, Rick Moss, Kandy Close, Archie Jackson, Mellisa Campbell and Kathy Thomas for helping to distribute yard signs.
- Marty Briem, Mark Weppler, Art Walker, Chris Kerper, Sue Kimble, Chris Renner, Colin Copeland, Gail Garbrandt, Michelle Glazer, Ida Barlock, Sandy and Mark Cox, Randy and Mala Payton, Sherrel Rieger, Tech Vicki, and Tari Cross for words and actions of encouragement.
- Karen Whitescarver, for taking photos.
- Sally Bernhart, Jeri Starcher and Kandy Close, without whom Tate & Renner could not serve so many so well.
- The dozens of people who signed my petitions.
- Roy Crawford of ZAL for help with the pencils, door hangers and yard signs.
- Jackie Roach, for the beautiful banner she made for the campaign.
- Sonia Morales for making tamales.
- The staff at AlicePaul Direct for help addressing, tabbing and mailing our literature.
And I continue to think of the encouragement I had from my late partner, Al Tate, 1942-1995. He was a hero of achievement, a joyous uplift, and a well of justice.
Al Tate, 1942-1995
